Manila Director Dellas arrested at SoHum pot grow

Tim Dellas, a director in the Manila Community Services District, was arrested June 9 on suspicion of marijuana cultivation and possession.

Humboldt County sheriff’s deputies, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the FBI and the Humboldt County Drug Task Force raided a property off Elk Ridge Road in Briceland shortly before 8 a.m., according to the sheriff’s department.

Dellas, 47, was arrested at the scene.

After serving the search warrant, law enforcement agents found “two sophisticated indoor commercial marijuana growing operations,” according to their report.

Twenty one-pound bags of marijuana buds and 5,515 marijuana plants (two inches to 24 inches in size) were seized.

Authorities found two diesel generators that were being utilized to run 180 high-intensity lamps.

Dellas, who has served on the MCSD board since 1997, is declining comment to the media under advise of his attorney, Mark Harris.

Dellas has posted a ,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on June 24.
